Col. Gaddafi: Indicted by ICC for war crimes

The International Criminal Court [ICC] sitting in The Hague has today issued the long anticipated arrest warrants against the embattled Libyan Leader Col. Muammar Gaddafi and his intelligence Chief.  Col Gaddafi is accused of personally ordering attacks on civilians

Army Generals tried to topple Museveni in April

A strong NRM party stalwart who was recently appointed Minister of State in the new government has revealed that President Museveni unearthed a plan by two senior army Generals to “overthrow” the government in order to stop it falling into opposition leader Dr. Besigye’s hands during the ‘walk-to-work’ protests in April.

The ongoing anti-Museveni protests that have been taking place in London over the last few months took a different twist last week when the usual Ugandan pro-democracy activists were joined in solidarity by some white [wazungu] protesters who are concerned by the reckless way their taxes are being misused by Museveni’s regime.

Activists protest outside British parliament

The political turmoil that has engulfed Uganda since the conclusion of the controversial elections on 18th February intensified last week on Wednesday 15th June as Ugandans living and working in the United Kingdom [UK] staged a protest in London outside the British parliament the House of Commons to highlight Uganda’s democracy deficit to the international community.

After several protests outside the Ugandan Embassy in London that lasted nearly two months, the protesters shifted their campaign and camped in-front of the British Parliament. (more…)

Reports from reliable sources have confirmed to Uganda Correspondent that Forum for Democratic Change [FDC] President Dr. Kizza Besigye, who was en-route to Entebbe from the US, briefly stopped over in London for a few hours on Saturday 11th June to meet his London based aides to plot a “diplomatic offensive” against Museveni’s regime in the whole of Europe.

105 Rights Groups ask UN to probe govt killings

President Yoweri Museveni should ensure that there is an independent and transparent investigation into the killings which occurred during the ‘walk-to-work’ protests and thereafter hold security forces accountable, a coalition of 105 human rights organisations demanded in a June 15th letter to the President.
