Whereas “The Uganda Correspondent” do as standard practice take all reasonable and practicable steps to ensure that all materials contained on its publications meet all the basic tenets of responsible journalism at the relevant time the page contents are created, modified and or published, it nonetheless expressly states that it;

  1. Offers no warranty whatsoever and accepts absolutely no responsibility for the accuracy and or completeness of the user generated content/materials contained on its publications;
  2. Advises that no reliance should be attempted by any user, personal or corporate, on the materials contained herein that may result in a legal claim for damages against “The Uganda Correspondent” without the prior written consent of the Editor in Chief of “The Uganda Correspondent”;
  3. In its absolute discretion, reserves the editorial right to make changes as it deems appropriate to all materials posted, sent, and or forwarded for publication on “The Uganda Correspondent” by anyone or body corporate at any time and expressly excludes legal liability in any shape or form for any externally originated content/materials that may be offensive, defamatory or libellous to any person or corporate body;
  4. Strongly requires and or encourages anyone, group of people, or corporate body who has reasonable grounds to believe that legally copyrighted material/s that belong to him/her/them/it has been used by “The Uganda Correspondent” without their consent, or in breach of an agreed licence, or contract, to initially notify[1] the Editor in Chief of “The Uganda Correspondent” in writing using his/her email address editor@ugandacorrespondent.com and demand the removal of such material/s from “The Uganda Correspondent’s publications;
  5. Strictly states that the above initial procedure is mandatory and that failure to comply will automatically disqualify any claimant from bringing any legal action for redress or compensation from “The Uganda Correspondent”;

And

Whereas “The Uganda Correspondent” website offers external links to other websites or physical addresses in the course of its business and as a service to its users, in providing such a service, “The Uganda Correspondent” accepts absolutely no responsibility for and neither does it endorse the content/s or condition/s of any linked site or its associates.

 



[1] Your notification under clause [4] above must include sufficient information to enable us to easily identify the copyrighted work that is the subject of the notification and or alleged infringement or, if multiple copyrighted works are involved, a representative list of such works and information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate and access such material and; information reasonably sufficient to permit us to easily contact you within the shortest possible time, such as your name, email address, physical address and telephone number; evidence of your alleged ownership of the copyright content/s in question; or if you are acting on behalf of another party, details of all parties and their contacts must be supplied including the relationship between you and them; indicate what law/s [of which country] are alleged to have been transgressed.
