Letter from Kisumu: How to kick Museveni out

By Bob Awiti Otange

14th Nov 2011: Dear brothers and sisters from Uganda, it is indeed sad to watch constant barbaric attacks by government soldiers to innocent and harmless Uganda protesters who are trying to get constitutional political freedoms in their motherland.

Ugandans, you have appreciated the better part done by Museveni for the last 25 years in power.  And like it is said that no human being can have monopoly of knowledge, Museveni should learn from this in order to pave way for proper democratic space for Ugandans.  He is still dreaming that his continuity in power could turn around the economy of Uganda better than the preceding years during which period he has been in power.

Let Museveni read the signs of political change across Africa.  Just to mention but a few:  Ivory Coast, Egypt, Tunisia and the more recent one is Libya. No head of state is indispensable. Continuous stay in power will brew a seriously acrimonious relationship with the people of Uganda.

Ugandans, the only weapon you have to counter Museveni is unity among all the political parties.  Proper coordination among yourselves is imperative.  Involve human rights groups, the international community, etc then spread the message that Ugandans must be freed from Museveni’s draconian rule.

This message should reach all sections of society in Uganda. Educate the poor, middle, semi literate Ugandans on their constitutional right of voting, shared national resources, corruption in the government etc.  Then build a formidable force with the power of the people to struggle for freedom. People’s power is more superior than an atomic bomb; let alone Museveni’s outdated machine guns and those unserviceable jet fighters.

Then get prepared for the ‘war’ with the SLOGAN: MUSEVENI MUST GO! UGANDA MUST GET FREEDOM!  This message should be understood by all Ugandans including infants. Then all Ugandans, including those in Diaspora must participate in this process.

The world will listen to people’s power and consequently Museveni will be pushed out of State House.  Kindly buy the idea and discuss among yourselves the way forward.  END.  Please login to www.ugandacorrespondent.com every Monday to read our top stories and anytime mid-week for our news updates.
