Former Kitgum district chairman is dead

The former LC5 Chairman of Kitgum District Mr John Bosco Oryem is dead.  According to Kitgum District Speaker Mr Geoffrey Oguti, the late Oryem’s body was due to arrive at his residence in Kitgum Town yesterday, Sunday 25th.

Mr Oguti also revealed that the body of the deceased will be taken to Kitgum District Council Chambers today where all the former District Chairpersons and current councillors will view the body and pay their last respects.

A requiem mass will then take place tomorrow, March 27, at Christ the King catholic Church at 10:00am after which the body will be taken to Pajule, the deceased’s home village.  It is anticipated that burial will take place the following day, Wednesday 28th Pajule.

John Bosco Oryem passed away at about midday on Thursday the 22nd March 2012 from Lacor Hospital where he had been admitted for treatment.  Oryem was born on 30th April 1947.  He studied at Pajule Catholic Mission and later went on to St. Joseph Mayela for his secondary education before joining Msgr Antonio Vignato SSS.
